Mead is an alcoholic beverage made with fermented honey. It is of great antiquity; a recent study through the Penn Museum [1] in the Chinese village of Jiahu suggests that it is approximately 9000 years old, about the same age as beer or grape wine) and was once found across many cultures. Though it is not common brew today, it has steadily been regaining popularity in the West [2]
